Hi.
A few people have asked me how and why I became a Christian. Here is the story of how I met Jesus.
I was raised Catholic. I went to church every Sunday. I ignored services because, first, I was a child, and second, I thought they were boring.
When my mother said I was old enough, she decided I could stay home alone.
One day, someone gave me a booklet called “Born Again Christian”. He asked if he could pray with me. I said yes, and then I left.
When I got home, I threw the booklet on my dresser. A couple of weeks later, I was cleaning my room when I came across the brochure. I called my aunt, who told me I should talk to my father’s friend. So I called him, and he met with me.
He explained that the ONLY way into Heaven was through Jesus Christ. He showed me (John 3:16) in the Bible, which says,
He told me how Jesus came to earth and died on the cross for our sins and that we could only enter Heaven by having Him in our lives.
Have a look at the picture below. It shows how people try to get to Heaven through different means, such as religion, being good, philosophy, etc., but the ONLY way to God is through Jesus Christ.
This was news to me. I thought that being a good person was all I needed to go to Heaven.
So, with the new information my dad’s friend showed me, he asked me if I wanted to invite Jesus into my life. I said yes, and he led me in a simple prayer, and that’s when I invited Christ into my life.
I started going to his church, which was a Pentecostal church. Those services were fantastic. The pastor would talk about things that God wanted us to hear.
The Pastor is supposed to talk about important things. Sometimes, the pastor will talk about things that might make you feel guilty, or you might think that what the pastor is talking about is like he is talking to you specifically. That is one of the ways that God reaches you and speaks His message. If the pastor only talked about nice messages and there was no conviction, how else should you learn what God wants to tell you?
For me, that was through a Pentecostal church.
I first gave my life to Jesus in 1993 when I was 15 or 16, and almost every chance I got, I tried to let as many people know about Him and how He wanted to be a part of their lives.
As Christians, Jesus wants us to share His Word with everyone.
There are many ways that you can help share the Word. Pray to Him and let Him tell you how He would like you to help. It can be as simple as greeting people coming to your church.
I found this out through one of my friends. I greet people just because I like meeting people, but my friend told me that God could use me by greeting people. As an example, maybe someone is coming to church for the first time, and maybe he’s thinking that if no one greets him, he’s never going to trust in Him again or something else, and by me or someone else greeting him, he decides to give his life to Jesus. That was news to me. I had never thought about it that way until she mentioned it.
For me, the main way that I try to help spread God’s Word is through podcasts. When God puts something in my heart, I share it in my Podcasts.
I used to have a Podcast where I would invite people and let them advertise their companies for free. I went in with the primary idea of monetizing my podcast; however, since I wasn’t monetizing, I quit.
However, this time, I’m not looking to monetize. I’m just doing it because God wants me to.
I’ve been doing Podcasts since July 2024. My Podcasts are available through here, hosted by YouTube.
God bless.
